Rob Gronkowski is Really Pumped About Scoring his 69th Career Touchdown

Rob Gronkowski loves the number 69.

He can barely contain himself whenever it’s mentioned, even going as far as to wear a No. 69 jersey during the Patriots’ most recent Super Bowl parade. With that history in mind, it’s no surprise that Gronk is very excited about scoring his 69th career touchdown.

Gronkowski tied the Patriots’ all-time record with his 68th touchdown in a win against the Steelers Sunday and could break Stanley Morgan’s mark next week in his home state against the Buffalo Bills. This incredible coincidence didn’t escape Gronkowski when he asked about his move up the record books after the game. “One more and I got 69 touchdowns. If you know that I mean,” he said as he started to chuckle. “Only you know what I mean, baby!”

Like any frat bro worth his salt, Gronk is obsessed with 69. He once taped the number on the back of his practice jersey and told TMZ he likes to do 69 push-ups. The joke may get old, but Gronkowski torturing opposing defenders is a sight that Patriots fans will never get tired of seeing. His two catches in the third quarter Sunday, including his 36-yard touchdown reception, broke the game wide open.

Here’s to 69 more.
